I Love This (and am pimping to my McShep fan friends). I especially love "until the extra funding had come through and the faculty refused to let him near young, impressionable minds again, in almost that order" for its sheer Rodneyness.

*beams* Thank you so! I'm really glad you like this -- the funding line is one of my favourites. (And I'm so flattered you're pimping it. Thanks for letting me know!)

But I must respect their Beckettian dictates while I am among them.

Was the point where I stopped laughing like a drain and started to actually asphyxiate from giggling, so I had to read the second half twice. Even better the second time.

Now you understand why I lured you into this fandom, yes? So you could flatter my ego. *nods*

Thank you!

This was definitely great; the characterizations, particularly Teyla and Zelenka, really worked and were a pretty damn good foil for everyone else. Awesome job.

Thank you! That's really good to hear -- I had so much fun writing Teyla and Zelenka's lines.

Thank you for making me laugh! I loved this from start to finish.
Favorite bit: "Don't you have trials to run or prayers to chant backwards?" Rodney asked Carson, but his heart wasn't in it. What was the point of being given a whole-team intervention if no one on said team would waggle their eyebrows at you? Heh.

Well developed, with incredibly funny one-liners scattered in there. I must quote one of my favourites: He made a two-handed gesture that could have been hit on you while under the influence, or, if he was honest, flew to the mainland using only three hairgrips and a whistle. So, so Rodney. Wonderful characterisations. And of course, wonderful story!

September 25 2006, 14:08:28 UTC 5 years ago

Oh, thank you so much! I'm glad you liked this, and the three hairgrips line is one of my favourites, too. :)

September 25 2006, 12:59:44 UTC 5 years ago

hehe. That's just priceless. I love the liberal use of "blah" and the ridiculousness of it all. :)

"Just huh, Rodney," said Sheppard, drawing out his name to have eighteen syllables and a diphthong. *norts*

[info]foreverdirt

September 25 2006, 14:13:29 UTC 5 years ago

I did, I'll admit, shake my head occasionally while I was writing this and then mutter "Oh, Rodney" to myself. *grins sheepishly*

September 25 2006, 13:23:21 UTC 5 years ago

How has no-one mentioned Then there was meat surprise in the canteen. Rodney was obediently surprised and went back for seconds. yet? Oh, Rodney.
I giggled (litterally, it shames me to say) my way through this. (But there was some (wo)manly laughing too! And a few strange wheezing noises, but we won't mention them.)
And Ford! Damn, it's moments like this I realise how much I miss him. Aw.
Teyla was awesome too. Beckettian! (The Lord Our Carson is a Vengeful Carson!)
In short, I loved it.

September 25 2006, 14:16:16 UTC 5 years ago

Oh, Rodney.

*grins* I have so much love for him. I'm glad it came across.

I love the Beckettian religion. And how gloriously oblivious Rodney is to what's actually going on with John.

[info]foreverdirt

September 25 2006, 14:20:57 UTC 5 years ago

I had such fun deciding new brilliantly, gloriously wrong theories for Rodney to come up with regarding Sheppard's behaviour. *grins* Thank you for your comment -- I'm glad you liked this!

I believe we must have a mantra for the new Beckettian religion -

"Carson is always right. I will listen to Carson. I will not ignore Carson's recommendations. Carson is God. And if this ever happens again, Carson will personally feed you haggis until oatmeal runs out of your ears."

Totally awesome!

Oh my GOD, the laughing. "I can see it now. 'Tell me about your father.' 'He was a dick; I was laconic. It's no big.'" And the bit about Am I A Dumb Guy Acting Smart--HAH.

Although I have a special place in my heart for Teyla breaking off to go smother Ford in his sleep. That was awesome. ::g::

OH YOU ARE SO SHINY SO SHINY AND PERFECT AND OH. I don't even love atlantis, not nearly as much as I am meant to but this is glory and I love them and I love their voices which are all just genius and I love the whole all of it and oh. Dude. ::dances you awful much::

*dances you LOTS* Thank you so! This comment makes me really happy -- I'm so glad this induced capslocks in you. :)

(Dude! Totally OT, but I was sorting through my vids today and came across one called "Prisoner Cellblock Dylan" and so, totally bemused, I started watching it. "This must be Neighbours," I thought to myself, "and these people are So In Love. But why do I have it on my computer?" And then we got to the credits and it was by you. So, yes, that vid is love.)

The net swallowed my reply ... IIRC I said something like how it's freaking me out by now that Sheppard is never freaked out in those fanfic scenarios, and how I liked the mess hall scene, and Zelenka, and Spotting Drugs for Beginners etc. :)

[info]foreverdirt

September 25 2006, 20:08:01 UTC 5 years ago

I like to think Sheppard's default response to Weird is something like "Huh. Okay. Let's work with that." *grins*

I really enjoyed writing those scenes, so I'm very glad you enjoyed them. Thank you!

sex with your drugged team leader

I loved this. Absolutely pitch-perfect characterization, and the little descriptions of things were perfect - Planet date rape and the alien rohypnol; Rodney's drugged out insights into all the trees swaying together, Carson's how to lecture on alien drugs, and really, so many lines that popped out and said, laugh at me!! Zelenka was brilliant in this, and I'm very fond of not only the aliens made them do it scenarios, but the serial nature of this. Really nice work.

Re: sex with your drugged team leader

*beams happily* Thank you so much -- I'm so pleased you liked the characterisations, and it makes me happy that you've picked out what were many of my favourite moments to write.
